Another chilly windy day today.  Winds were a little stronger than on Saturday but the temps were about the same at 49 degrees.  Felt good once you got going but it was pretty cold for us Las Vegas wimps.  It's supposed to warm up a bit more every day this week and the winds are supposed to subside.so I look forward to that.

The run felt pretty good for the most part but the Garmin was off on the very first mile so I ended up running at least an extra 10th of a mile at the end.  Since we were so anxious to get started this morning with the wind and cold we probably didn't let the Garmin's lock on to enough satelites before starting the run.  My Garmin has been acting a little funky ever since the monsoon marathon so I guess I should be glad that at least it survived.  For a while there after the marathon it wouldn't even power on so I was afraid it was a gonner.  Slowly but surely all the functions seem to have come back but it still seems a bit off.

PM - Went with the family to the Y.  While the family swam I went to the weight room and was lost as to what I should do.  Jumped on a bike for a few minutes to warm up then moved around to 3-4 machines to work some upper body areas, then jumped on the treadmill for a mile, probably didn't need that.  All in all, not a bad little workout for a guy who really needs to strengthen his core and upper body.

That is a good run man. And under similar conditions as to our race. Why didnt we have more like that in our training? As for your Garmin mine has been acting up alot too. I cant get it to download the workouts and says I need to call in. So I am sure charging it and running. How is the other RdRunner doing?? She all recovered?

Good job getting out this morning Jeff, my Garmin 305 gave up the ghost after the SGM. The water got in there and then after I powered it off and then back on again it just fried it! I lost all my splits for the race and everything else I had on there, oh well live and learn!

The sad thing is Garmin said tough luck, so I just had to eat it...

Man ... I just don't know how you are surviving in those horrible Vegas conditions!! :)

Nice run!

Mark...Meg is doing okay but she is still struggling with some knee pain. She had to pull up after a couple of miles today and go in to use the elyptical. Hopefully she'll be back at it soon.

Clay...That was my biggest fear when my Garmin went dead, that I would lose my SGM splits. I'm sorry to hear you lived my biggest fear. I thought these dang things were supposed to be waterproof to some extent?!?!

Teena...hey we are pretty wimpy down here. If we don't get perfect weather every day we cry about it. Last year, on a day like today, I would have slept in. Now I can't live without my daily dose of endorphins.

According to Garmin they can only take about 30 minutes of wetness and I had 3 hours and 43 minutes of wetness!!!

LOL ya I dont even dear to use a Ipod. I am sure I would sweat it to death too. I think Lark had the problem for a while and got it solved with plugging the holes in the back of his Garmin. I think he got some coating put on. And works fine now he said.
