Another hot one today with a nice warm breeze to go along with 88 degree temps.  Started out easy for the first mile and slowly worked in to a 8:00ish pace.  Lower back is still an issue but really does seem to warm up and ease by about mile 4-5.  Passed Meg and Michael once during the run.  Michael is struggling with shin splints right now, the worst thing about starting runners.  It took me about a year to get past the shin splints and I have never looked back since.  I hope he sticks with it long enough to get past this initial pain without pushing it too far.  Nothing else exciting today just the uneventful 9, the usual 15 minutes of yoga and 5 minutes inverted while watching the opening segment of the today show wondering why our president has such a hard time appologizing for the stupid things he says....I guess you just can't teach humility.

Nice job on the run. Hope that back starts feeling better.

Another consistent 9 miles and yoga. Still don't know how you could run in a furnace. If you can run in near 90 temp, SGM's 50's will be a breeze! Does the inversion table help with back pain? I need to be inverted! :-)

Everyone with their "easy," "uneventful" 9 miles. I didn't run 9 miles over the last 2 months. It was 90 degrees when I woke up this morning though. At least I'm missing the bad running months, not the nice ones. 202 miles this month! You rock!

Nice run Jeff...I am guessing Michael is your son? I am sure if he takes after you he will be healthy and speedy in no time at all!

Kathie..LOL if he's anything like me he won't be healthy or fast. Let's hope he's much better than his old man.

Rhett..Thanks, ya my body is feeling a bit rocked too.

Smooth and Cal...Inverted is cool, not sure yet if it is helping but it is kinda fun.

Dale...Thanks. Me too.
