Another nice easy run today.  I continue to be surprised by my back.  It doesn't seem to effect my running that much but is very painful if I move it just right while laying in bed or bending over.  It seems to be more in the upper hip area than the lower back.  I wonder if maybe I have strained a muscle in that area and it is trying to heal.  In any regard, running doesn't cause much pain at all unless I really push the pace and stretch out the stride.  I guess I will just continue to give it time and see if gets better or worse.  Beautiful day for running except for the breezy conditions.  Temp at the start was 66 and finished at around 73.

Jeff, I think you are smart to just keep running easy as long as it's not getting worse. I've read a number of articals telling how they used to think complete rest was the best for a bad back but now they have determined that excersize and staying active is best. I know my back problems were worse before I got into running. Good luck with it.

Good job getting out the last few days Jeff, keep working hard.

I've had some back problems myself. They have never felt better than when I have lost some weight and am running! My worse time is lying down too! Especially on my back or stomach. I have to be a side sleeper or I'm not moving to well in the morning. But I'm always surprised that running doesn't seem to bother me. (knock on wood!) Hope yours continues to improve.
