Decided to scrap the marathon pace run today and stick to some less intense running.  My left knee started acting up a bit yesterday so I didn't want to push it today and risk making it worse.  It didin't bother me during the run today at all so that is a good sign.  I will keep it simple again tomorrow in hopes of getting enough recovery to finish off the last 20 miler on Saturday.  The temp said 58 today when we started our run but it felt a bit colder with the wind blowing pretty hard from the north.

Jeff...

Glad your knee is feeling ok. You've been putting in a lot of miles. I can't remember if I asked this before, but what time are you hoping for at LVM?

Dale..I think you are right about putting in too many miles. I think my knees are just screaming for a break. Can't wait to cut back the miles a little in the taper. My plan for LVM is around 3:29 which would be a small PR and would just beat my SGM time, we'll see what happens.

Ya I think your getting wiser and smarter as a runner this yr Jeff. This week is going to end up being a really big milage one. But it should pay off with some great results for sure for LVM. I wish you the best and good to hear your knee is feeling better.

You had me very worried for a second. Out of the corner of my eye all that I saw was:

"Decided to scrap the marathon"

I'm glad that is not the case. Wise choice to slow down for now.

WOW JEFF!!! Just looked at your mileage this week. You are unbelievably tough!! Shnikeys!!

Yes, get your run in tomorrow, your 20 miler in Saturday and then taper good!!! Man Alive!! Very impressive. (So glad the knee is holding up.) Seriously ... AWESOME JOB!!

58 is down right cold when your used to running in the desert. I am such a wimp when it comes to cold weather running. Good thing I live in the desert too. We are a bit warmer than you guys though. Our lows are in the mid to upper 60s still.
