Fairly easy 7 miler today.  Was pleased that I didn't have any soreness today.  Legs felt a bit dead but no soreness to speak of.  Going to just try and be consistent this week with nothing too crazy.

Perfect! I asked mark the same question. What are you guys looking to hit the half in. Equal halfs or Neg split? I am doing a little test run tomorrow on the Painters course to see if going for a BQ is even possible.

Nice! Happy to hear that your legs were not sore! Here is to taper madness...bring it on!

Mike...I think a negative split is the probably the best way to run SGM with all the downhill in second half but I have never done that yet in a marathon. I always tend to fade bad at the end. My rough estimates would be around 1:38 for the first half and 1:36 for the second half. That gives us a couple of minutes to play with as a cushion. Let me know what you think.

Jeff I would go even slower than that on the first half. I was thinking run with the 3:20 guy until we're up the Veyo hill or even the Dammeron hill, and then leave them.

It'd be nice to let them worry about the pace for at least that rough section. They're a great help up the hills.

What do you think?

Jeff, I hear ya on the negative split, it has never happened for me either. I figure if we hit the half at anything slower than 1:40, were in trouble. Would really have to motor in and with tired legs. I was thinking about the same as you. Hit the half around 1:38 and slowly try to pick it up coming home. I guess really were either in shape to do it or not.
