Fairly easy five miles today.  Picked it up a little for the last mile but pretty much took it easy again today.  Meg had a friend come over and run with us this morning.  Her friend doens't run as fast as we do so we spent some of the time averaging over 9:00 miles.  I don't know if this will be a daily occurance but I hope not and I don't think Meg enjoys it that much either as she is working to improve her speed.  I guess we'll see how it goes.  The knee continues to be on the mend and seems to be feeling a little better each day.  Still a ways to go before we get to 100% though.  Weather continues to be nice at about 42 this morning and a light breeze.  We really haven't had the 1-2 weeks of sub 30 temps like we did last year, hopefully it won't happen and spring will come a bit early.

Time:  8:29/mile

Jeff, great to hear from you! I will drop in on your blog time to time, hope you do the same. Thats cool you have a BQ goal in mind. I can't believe it's been almost 20 yrs since I last seen you! Holy Cow! where did all the time go? Good workout today, did you injure the knee or is it something that just keeps coming up? Let me know about it, I just went through the last year with a knee problem. I Finally found a couple of things that really helped, maybe they will work for you.

It sure is a small world isn't it. The knee thing is not too bad. I think it will probably just go away as I continue to ice, take anti-inflamatories, and keep my miles in the 40/week range for the next couple weeks. I took a week off over Christmas (lazy) and then had two 50 mile weeks in a row and the knee started aching. 50/week is fairly new territory for me so my knee was probably just telling me to take it easy. It's on the inside of the left knee cap and feels pretty tight when I stretch my quads. It's not overly painful to run just kind of a distraction. It seems to be getting better so I am fairly sure that it is not serious. Whatever things you have that might help would be greatly appreciated.
