Fairly easy run today in anticipation of tomorrows tempo/marathon pace run.  Winds were finally lighter than usual and the temps weren't too bad at a balmy 36 degrees.  Construction crews tore up a portion of the road along our usual route so we had to alter it a just a bit to get around the construction.  After the first mile today I tried to keep the pace around 8:10-8:15 which is a little faster than my normal pace.  Eventually I would like this pace to be my easy pace.  I will get there eventually.

Time: 8:15/mile

You are doing great as well Clay. Glad to hear the leg is doing so well, I hope you can continue to stay injury free. Keep up the good work.

I wish my heart rate was as low as yours. On a run like today, my heart rate average was around 160. I don't really know how to translate that but it is what it is I guess. When I see you guys with hear rates in the 140s or less I am amazed. In order to keep my heart rate in the 140s I would probably have to be doing 9:30-10:00 miles. I'm sure it will be in the 170s for me tomorrow with my marathon pace run.

Thats interesting because I always thought mine was alittle high too... I know James (cool runnings) has a high heart rate average too, he won't use a heart rate monitor, pretty wierd.

Thanks for the nice comments, I hope you and your family are doing well, and have a Merry Christmas!!!
