Finally Back at it again.  Felt pretty good today.  Not smooth but not as many aches and pains as before.  Finally logged a sub 8:00 mile in training since the marathon.  It wasn't pretty but made it through.  A couple of cats scared the heck out of us this morning at a spot where we have dealt with dogs before, we thought it was another dog coming for us.....whew!  Dang Cats!!

WooHoo!!! Nicely done Jeff. So HAPPY that you're out beating the pavement again, and you're saying goodbye to the aches and pains. You'll just get even better from here on out. This time of year, there seem to be more scatty cats out there spooking people...must be getting ready for Halloween. :)

Gotta watch those cats. It was a cat that got me last summer. Sounds like that break may have been just what the doctor ordered. Hope those aches and pains continue getting better.

I wish I could say goodbye to the aches and pains. I still feel them, but I've got a marathon in a few weeks so really don't have much more time for a break. I think it helped, but I'm not cured.

Dave, I thought your cat was some kind of wild cat. My cat encounter was with two wimpy house cats that just caught me by surprise.

You are still within the 26 day recovery period of the marathon. I few aches are to be expected. I have been so tierd lately. I've been sleeping like 9 to 10 hours at night. I think that is my bodies way of recovering. I have an MD friend who was telling me the other day that after running a marathon, your body has the same amount of some chemical in it as people who just had a massive heart attack.

Hey I am glad you are on here too. I really have not left the other forum but I need this to keep my training on track. Just today I wanted to cut it short but knew I needed to log the run and so I kept going. I think this will keep me more "honest" with my training.

Is your next race VOF?

From JeffC on Thu, Oct 23, 2008 at 14:50:01

Kathie..None of us left the forum, we just use this to log our runs. My next race/run (not really going to race) is VOF half. Will you be there too?

Rhett..Unforunately I am having the same aches and pains I was having before the marathon. So recovery from the marathon probably won't solve my problem, although I think it will help ease the pain.

From Kathie on Thu, Oct 23, 2008 at 19:52:56

No I will not be doing VOF gas prices are just too high to justify it to the hubby right now. Is Meg doing it with you (I hope I remembered your wifes name right)

From JeffC on Thu, Oct 23, 2008 at 20:19:33

Yes, Meg is right and she is planning on doing it with me. We're pretty much joined at the hip when it comes to running races. I don't know if I will get her to follow through with her Las Vegas Marathon commitment though. I am planning to run for sure but she doesn't want to run on Sunday and I am the devil so we'll see who wins. HE, HE, HE!!!

From Kathie on Thu, Oct 23, 2008 at 23:38:16

I need to get you to talk to my husband, I want to get the googy medal at Disney World but he doesn't want me to run on Sunday. I am not sure if I really want to run on sunday eather but it would be noce to have a "devil" tell me it is ok! I hope you win!
