I love the new shoe tracking addition to the blog.  Now I don't have to copy and paste my shoe entry every day   wooohooo!!

Just took it easy today and enjoyed a nice run with Meg.  She told me today that she will not be running Vegas for sure so I guess I will be doing this one solo.  I sure hope the race day weather is like it has been this week.  Today was perfect again with a temp of 60 and no wind at all.  I'm sure things will change by then but it sure is nice right now.  We steadily picked up the pace each mile today and finished our last couple of miles right in the 8:00/mile range....and it felt really good.

Time:  58:35  8:22/mile

Sorry that Meg is not running the marathon with you. That stinks!! You will do so well though. I'm so excited for you. Is there an online tracking deal for us spectators at home?

Nice job on the run this morning Jeff, I wish I was feeling better physically and I would come down and run it with you, but I have to many aches and pains!

Good luck with your training, your doing great;-)

That is cool that you get to run with your wife so much. Do you guys have kids? In a few more years, mine should be old enough that my wife and I can go running together and leave them alone for a bit.

From JeffC on Tue, Oct 28, 2008 at 12:54:21

We have 4 kids with the oldest being 14. He is waiting outside every morning when we finish our run, waiting for his ride to seminary. The rest of the kids are still asleep when we get home. We are usually out the door by 4:45 and done by around 5:45 or 6:00. It's really the only time that works for both of us and gives us a few moments of peace before the day starts. We also stay very close to home running around inside our develpment on a loop that is 1.45 miles. We are never more than a couple minutes from the house in any direction and the kids know where to find us if there is a problem. Almost 3 years and no problems....knock on wood.

I noticed your shoe mileage tracking on your blog. I can't seem to find mine. I wonder if it's b/c I don't have the Moxzilla Firefox for those functions to show up on mine.

Anyway, great run with your wife. I admire couples who can run together. Is she going to LVM to cheer you though?

From JeffC on Tue, Oct 28, 2008 at 14:37:45

Smooth...once you log in to the blog and are at the calendar view screen there is an option on the left of the screen for shoe tracker or something like that. Best invention ever!!

Meg will be getting me to the starting line and cheering me on during the race.

Hey Jeff, it works, THANKS!!!

I notice there're whole bunch of stuff there on the left. I need to pay more attention.

How fun. Meg is a great "athletic supporter"!!! LOL

Is the Vegas Strip on the course? I ran that strip several times over a March weekend in 2006 when I was there to watch the Mountain West Basketball tournament. At the time I knew of you and Pron8r, so I was thinking about you Vegas runners. How many times have you run LVM?

From JeffC on Tue, Oct 28, 2008 at 15:14:03

Yes, she is a great athletic supporter! She gets to take on the role I had for several years while supporting her at her races. :)

The Vegas strip is the start of the course and it runs all the way from Mandalay Bay at the south to Fremont (old downtown) at the north. Then it just heads west and loops around through some pretty boring residential areas and finishes back at the Mandalay Bay. I have never run LVM, this may be my only running of the event since I typically don't run on Sunday but I live here, so really wanted to do it.

From Smooth on Tue, Oct 28, 2008 at 15:37:21

O, I meant to say 2007 was when I ran there. I suppose in the LVM, you don't have to run up and down those stairs leading to the crosswalks, and no porn cards strewn all over. I actually liked running those steps and loved the boardwalks in front of Treasure Islands and the music coming from the Bellagio.

I ran from Luxor to Fremont and back on Friday morning for an 8 miler. Then on Sat. morning I did that again but twice on each side of the road (on the sidewalks of course) and a little beyond to make a 17 miler. I would love to run LVM...but MY athletic supporter kindly discourages me from it...yah Sunday, darn.

Jeff I would love to have my hubby run with me and I am always trying to get him too but he never will! At the same time he is trying to get me to golf with him but I just don't see the point, maybe if I ran between holes?
