Jeff...

Great job man!!! To you AND Meg. I'm so glad that you made it. That was a great report. I wonder what was up with the fence? Strange. Get some well deserved rest.

Jeff - Way to gut it out! I knew you could do it. I thought of you during church today and hoped you were doing well! I am glad you decided to go. Can you imagine if you had decided to stay in bed, you would never have know how strong you really are!

It is so fun that you and Meg cross the finish line together, that is one finish line photo that you should buy for sure!

Jeff, way to go!! That's unbelievable !!After not being able to do one mile just 3 days ago. I guess the challenges of the past week made the finish that much sweeter.

Nice report.

Wow, that was a RACE report, thanks for sharing it! I think that race will go down in the books for you as a great accomplishment!

From Teena on Sun, Dec 07, 2008 at 18:34:46

Jeff,

YES!!! You and Meg are unbelievably amazing. I am so happy for you. Sure, it might not have played out like you were planning ... but man alive ... what a great experience on so many levels.

Congratulations to both you and Meg! You are a bona fide fighter! AMAZING!!

Jeff --

THANKS for the report. What a journey!!! I was thinking about you this morning. I had been in similar situation debating what to do... to either DNS or show up and DNF, it's just agony.

You proved that you're a fighter, not quiter. How SWEET it is that you were able to finish LVM with Megan together. Your last sentence says it all. The preparation, the training, the challenge, the setback, the almost DNS and the endurance of the 26.2 really teach us so much about ourselves: the will power, the resilience. That's why we LOVE it so much. Only those who's gone thru it can understand. YOU OWN IT NOW. You're stronger and better for it. Thanks for sharing your journey. Best wishes to a speedy recovery.

Oh yeah Jeff, I just thought of something that I forgot to mention in my prior comment:

Okay, here it is:

YOU HAVE TO POST THE PICTURE OF YOU WITH THE VEGAS GALS!! (is there a way to do that from a cell phone)

From Clay on Mon, Dec 08, 2008 at 10:11:31

Way to go Jeff! I just read your report and that is so cool that you were both able to run, that truly is a miracle! Now take some time off and heal up, you have both earned it!

From Andy on Mon, Dec 08, 2008 at 10:13:06

You keep finding new injuries to run through. Pretty soon you will have experienced every possible injury and you will have a great, injury free training cycle and race. Congratulations to both you and Meg.

From Mark on Mon, Dec 08, 2008 at 10:40:19

Great race report. Glad you made it through ok and sounds awesome that you ran the whole thing with your wife, must have really helped to have the company, otherwise those things can get lonely. I've been there before where you start a race not knowing if you can even finish it.

From Eric Day on Mon, Dec 08, 2008 at 11:13:05

Ok, this was my book reading for today...

Good job on the race & congrats to you & Meg. What better running partner than your wife.

All the best..

Thanks everyone for your kind words. I posted my LVM race report on the wrong day (what a dufus) so I have moved it to Sunday, December 7 and have included the pic you wanted to see Teena. NICE!!
