Pretty good quality run today although I wasn't able to do it without the pain meds as I had hoped.  About noon on Friday I could tell I still needed to be taking the Ibuprofen for continued inflamation in my back and other areas.  So I ran on drugs today and felt pretty good the whole way.  From mile 7-12 I ran 7:28/mile or better and then mile 16 I picked it up to the finish and came in with 7:06.  During the first six miles Meg and I added some hills both up and down over our usual over pass route.  So I got a run with a little bit of everything and feel pretty good about it.  Now it's time to start reducing the mileage and make it through the rest of the taper.

Very nice job there Jeff. Too bad about the pain meds. But you still got in a good run with some speed in it. Taper time oh yeah.

Very nice run. I think you're ready for a good one.

Question. When you take ibuprofen do you take it a couple of times a day or just in the morning when you run? And how much do you usually take?

Dave..I take Ibuprofen 3 times a day 800mg a pop (4 - 200 mg tablets). That is prescription strength so be careful with that. Now I sound like a real drug addict. I am hoping for a good run at SGM. Hopefully I can get some good healing in the next couple of weeks so that everything can come together.

Wow Jeff that is a lot. I have used Aleve and like that over Ibuprofen. Since it will last all day. And usual one will do the trick for me but you can take 2.

I usually always take 800mg when I do take it. 2 pills don't seem to help me much. I just wasn't sure if it helped more to keep it in your system or if it did just as much good to only take it when you needed it for a run. Thanks for the info. It seems to work well for you.
