Ran a 4 mile tempo run today.  My legs finally felt a liitle better this morning, I wouldn't say they had zip but at least they weren't dead like they have been the last few days.  Wanted to keep the pace around  7:10/mile which would have been about the pace of my tempo run a couple of weeks ago.  Ended up going a little faster than expected and I was pretty pooped by the time I finished.  Here are the splits:  7:03, 7:00, 6:53, 6:59.  I'm not sure what happened in that third mile, I did stop for gatorade.......maybe that stuff really works.  I think once I set the bar for myself on that first and second mile I felt like I needed to maintain an even pace for the whole run.  Really had to concentrate hard and try to relax on that las mile to bring it in even with the others.  tomorrow will tell the story of whether I pushed too hard or not.  Lots of extra stretching for me today.

Time:  53:51  7:42/mile

Great splits Jeff! You still have some speed in those legs. Good strong miles today, will pay you back later.

Great job on the tempo run. Nice to see those miles with 6 in front of them.

I agree with Tom. From a mental standpoint, I think its great to drop below 7's especially when you're hovering in that range anyway. Good running!

Thanks guys, I just worry that one of these mornings I'm gonna go out to run and my body is gonna say....nope, your done.

Great job man. And that is great run even if your body says ouch tomorrow. Just means you run a nice recovery and recovery for it. Awesome splits man. Your going to leave me in the ditch at SGM I am seeing it now. :)

Nice run. Glad to see you are still running strong with no injury this close to the marathon.

Thanks Mark, but I highly doubt I will be leaving you in any ditch.

Thanks Andy, I am just holding my breath and trying to run smart so I can make it to the start healthy and hopefully well trained. Last year at this time I was walking or using the ellyptical
