Split up the long run into to runs today again, separated only by about an hour.  Got up and ran with Meg for the frist 7 then loaded up the truck with yard sale fodder and took it over to where my daughter's softball team is having a fundraising yard sale.  Then finally made it over to my Ragnar 6 mile training run to run with the team.  We had a nice turn out today and I was able to get in a pretty fast mile in there.  The two faster guys dropped me with about 2 to go but hung in there and did okay.  I can tell I really need to get some tempo runs in soon.

I think tempo runs are hard. I am still not sure what pace to do them at.

Way to keep up with the speedy guys, at least for awhile!

GOOD JOB! I always wonder if I could ever run after I'm "done". Today after my 20 miler I thought out loud to the running group: "I ought to go home and do 6 more and call it a marathon. Because this week I had run two half-marys, 2 10K's and one 5K." Nah.

You DID good hanging tough with the fast guys. I could never do that. Have a great rest of the weekend.

Great job on getting the second half of the run finished - sometimes those don't always happen. Running with faster people always ends up helping me get faster too.

So did you get rid of any junk at the yard sale? How fast was your fast mile? You probably would have hung with them the whole way had you not already run 7 miles. I know I lost a race to my 9 year old this afternoon after my 20 mile run this morning.

Nice running and way to support the softball team!!

So ... stop being so modest and tell us more about the fast mile!! Come on ... we want to know!!

(say hi to Meg for me)

I don't really know how fast the fast mile was, it came in between a couple of miles on the Garmin so I didn't get an acurate pace for the whole mile. I would imagine it was in the 6:45 range or so, nothing spectacular.

Nothing spectacular??? You're nuts!!! That is AWESOME!!!

Very nice training run, Jeff. I need to start running with some faster people. Unfortunately, all my fast running friends live far away, and most of my "real" running buddies call me the fast guy. Running with faster people will definitely make you faster. (wow, I used the word "fast" quite a few times..doh, there it is again..:-)
