Taking yesterday off turned out to be a pretty good thing.  I had my legs back today and really felt good the entire time.  Ran 4 of the miles at sub 7:50 so that is why I am calling them fast.  Today I ran the first 9 miles near home and then drove over the park were my upcoming 5K will be held and ran 4 miles with another member of our corporate challenge 5K team.  Those miles were in the 9:00/mile range, but I was fine with that becuase the first 9 were a pretty good workout for a long run day.

Jeff, good to see your still hard at it. Whats your next long race?

13 miles when you are training for a 5k could be considered overkill... but you are doing Ogden right?

So is it safe to say that your calf problem in no longer a problem? Nice run today. How long till the 5K?

From Smooth on Sun, Mar 22, 2009 at 22:06:25 from 71.36.65.79

NICE long run! Is this the 5K where you had to run around some garbage can last year? When is it? You're the FAST guy representing your work, yah?

Mike..Nice to here from you again. Next long race for me is Hurricane.

Kathie..I am not doing Ogden. I don't think 13 is overkill, it's pretty much a standard Saturday long run for me.

Rhett..No calf problems at the moment, cross your fingers. The 5K is in 4 weeks.

Smooth..Yes that is the same 5K, good memory. Unfortunately I was the fastest guy on the team last year, not very fast. We have another guy that is much faster (sub 18:00) but he refuses to run due to the crappy/dangerous course. He runs in a local masters series and doesn't want to risk injury on our circus obstacle course...can't say that I blame him.
