Took it nice and easy today and had to fight to keep the pace in the slow range.  Legs felt okay after yesterdays faster run.  Stepped on a rock today during my run.  I caught it right in the ball of my foot between the 2nd and 3rd toes.  Hurt like ..........insert your own explative.  I had to stop for a couple of minutes and walk and stretch it out on the curb.  Continued running and it seemed okay but I can still feel a dull pain as I sit here typing this.  Of course this was on my left foot which has been bothering me so just another insult to my already injured foot.......holy crap!!  I think I am going to invest in a bubble and live in it for the next 5 weeks until the marathon so I don't have to face the harsh realities of the cruel world of marathon training.

When it rains it pours. I know what explative, I would fill the blank with!! Were getting close, hold it together Bro!!

If the foot is bruised, you might consider some cross training, like elliptical. A thought on cross training, though, is that it seems best substituted for what would have been recovery runs anyways as it is something. You are doing well, hang in there.

Hang in there Jeff. With all you've dealt with this year, just think how mentally tough you'll be once St. George gets here!

When it rains it pours! If it weren't for bad luck you'd have no luck at all:-) That's all I got Jeff, keep your head up and try not to get to discouraged...

Good job getting out this morning too!

I feel your pain Jeff expecially on the one thing after another part of things.

Thanks for checking in guys, I really do appreciate you all thinking of me. As bad as all my problems sound, this has probably been my best marathon training cycle of my 4 attempts. In each of the last 3 cycles I have missed as much as a month of training and had some relatively low mileage months. So I should probably just suck it up and quit crying.

Man I know what you mean about cruel world of marathon training. I tripped on a wire last week and like you stepped on a stupid rock today. About this time in the training cycle it starts to feel like everyone/everything is out to get you and mess up months of very hard work!
