Wind was still going this morning although it seems to have calmed down a bit since the weekend.  Hopefully this trend continues through the rest of the week so that we have calm, perfect conditions for Painter's on Saturday.  Temp was 48 at the start which was a bit warm when running with the wind but just right when running in to it.  I felt like this morning was my best run since LVM.  Not because of a fast time but because of the way I felt.  I wouldn't say I was completely without pain but I could tell that things are really starting to feel better and appear to be healing (knock on wood).  Ran the last couple of miles solo due to Meg's ankle still bothering her.  I really hope she gets that thing healed up in time for Saturday.

Jeff, I am so happy that you had such a great run. Don't you love it when your body, mind, and spirit all cooperate? That is great news. Hope those good feelings carry with you throughout the day.

Can't wait to see you and Meg at Painters.

Great run Jeff. Yes, I hope it's warm down in St. George for the race.

Jeff, good to hear your getting past all those nagging injuries [I'll knock on wood for you also]. I'm looking forward to some nice weather down there this weekend. The forcast looks good so far.

From Clay on Mon, Jan 12, 2009 at 14:22:12

Good luck on Saturday to both you and Meg, Jeff! Are you doing the Spectrum 10K this year? That is one of the races that I am running for the runners series, my other race is the Hurricane Half...

I'll be looking for your race report on Saturday, so kick some butt!

Teena..Thanks! Glad to hear you decided to come. Did you decide to run the half or the full?

Dale..Thanks! It will probably be about the same as Vegas. Just hope the wind is calm and the temp isn't too cold.

Dave..The forcast does look good, I'm looking forward to it. We need to figure out how we can meet up for a couple minutes and put names with faces.

Clay..Thanks Clay! As of right now we aren't planning to do Spectrum but we will be doing Hurricane so I will plant to see you there. We are doing the runners series too.

Teena..I meant the 5K not the full! Oops!

Great run Jeff. Sorry Meg ankle is acting up. I know how that is unfortunately. Cant wait to meet up with you again. I am sure you will smoke me on this one. So make sure to hang at the finish for me.

Great run Jeff! I am looking forward to the great weather to run in.

I hope Meg is feeling better soon.

From Smooth on Mon, Jan 12, 2009 at 15:28:10

Gotta love that "best run" feeling. Hope it stays with ya all the way to the finish at Painter's. Hope Megan's ankle behave soon. We should have good race day weather. I can't remember it being too windy up at Bloomington. Are we still meeting for lunch with the Flyers? Can you believe it's been one year since we met first time face to face? That was so fun. How time flies!!!

Jeff,

I signed up for the half ... but it seems that every one is urging me to run it slow and easy as to not mess up Boston w/a re-injury.

They are probably right ...

From JeffC on Tue, Jan 13, 2009 at 11:44:36

Teena..Probably a wise decision considering you are still in the healing phase. I know I am planning to run pretty conservatively, nothing like last year. Wait and see what the day brings but don't do anything too crazy, Boston is the ultimate goal.
