Didn't make it out for a run today. The day was literally packed from start to finish with stuff, stuff and more stuff. Got home from father and sons around 11:00 at which time we unloaded the truck, washed the truck, cleaned up and headed over to Cashman field for a tailgate party with my daughters softball team. We were at the field from around 2:30 - 9:00 pm ughghghghg! Needless to say it was a long day. We got to go to the baseball game, watch batting practice and play in the "kids carnival" before the game. At about 9:00 my wife was talking to my 14 year old son who didn't come to the game with us. He was walking to our home with a friend and as they arrived at home they said they noticed the light turn off in my girls bedroom. Needless to say we were all a bit worried and left the game immediately while talking to the 911 operator all the way to the car. It took us about 20 minutes to get back across town to our home and surprisingly we beat the cops to our house. The cops did a quick search of the house only to discover that no one was there and nothing had been disturbed. Don't know if it was just my son and his friends wild imaginations (and they are wild) or if it was legitimately something. Better safe than sorry I guess. Well, the fact that I didn't get a run today was okay with me, after all it is taper time and with my injury pron body I can always use the extra healing time. |
