Took it easy today and just ran some very generic average paced miles.  The body continues to feel better every day which is a good sign.  All the little aches that have been bothering me continue to feel better and better.  Hopefully the trend continues until well into next week.  Getting to the starting line healthy is my number one goal and it looks like that just might happen this year for once.

Glad to hear you're feeling better each day. Getting to the start line feeling healthy can be a major accomplishment in and of itself after all the hard training. Looks like you are on track for a great PR and BQ.

That's great that you are getting better each day. We're almost there!

Looks like everything is falling into place for a great race.

Right on man. It is good to hear your having some good days and coming into this race healthy. We are going to get under 3:30 I am sure. And have a great shot at that BQ.

What about starting with the 3:10 group? Central to Veyo is pretty easy. If its too fast slow and recover through Veyo and Dammeron. If were feeling good, take the training wheels off after veyo hill and catch the sub 3 group.

Mike...ther is no way I could starr with the 3:10 group and stick with them through Dammeron and hope to have enough at the end to finish strong. I have only run 3 marathons but I know what I feel like the last 6 miles and I will have nothing left if I go out too fast. I may have nothing left regardless of how fast I go out.

I've got my pace chart all figured out and I'm going to stick to it for as long as I can and hang on until the end.

You should definatly consider going for your sub 3 hour. You are a much better runner than I am and your training these last few weeks has been incredible. I think you would have a really good shot.

Jeff, sub 3 is not really an option for me. I will run with the 3:10 as long as possible. I was in sub 3 shape back in Feb, but the stress fracture said no. Really, I will be very happy with a 3:15. I think you have trained hard enough for the BQ.

We did a 23 mile training run. I started really slow, 8:30's. Ran the Veyo Hill and Dammeron, 8:00's. When I got to the big drop at Diamond Valley we turned it on. Avg pace was under BQ. I am no expert, but if you run smart the first 13, I will bet the farm, you BQ. Sorry for the novel.
